Obsidian-Tipped Spear
This is a brute's weapon, originally designed for mass production during the half-orc crusades. It has a rough-hewn wooden shaft with a groove at the tip, into which has been inserted and tightened with leather straps a shard of obsidian. The edges of the obsidian are chipped to form a wicked glittering point. A sharp thrust and twist in close quarters should be sufficient to disembowel any scrawny halfling.
Damage is 16-20 to 49-55 (average 32-37). (estimating standard hafted weapon ranges) Modifies damage roll by 14 continuous. Modifies hit roll by 12 continuous.

You can bash while wielding this because it's hafted. Since this weapon does piercing damage it is sharpenable. The heavy spear, 'Ocean' in contrast is 15dr/10hr weight 24.
