A heavy bucket is filled with scales of rusted iron.

The bucket is flat on one side, with a leather harness attached for carrying it on one's back. It is filled with what looks like shards of corroded brown metal: probably the collected iron scale that forms on steel when it is still red hot.

Drop this in room "Above the mouth of the furnace" to spawn Terrible Ironfiend("Something huge and terrible has possessed the molten iron!") in the "Pools of Iron" rooms:

 Scales of rust pours off the precipice, and into the blast furnace.
 
 A low rumbling slowly builds until the liquid metal in the furnace
 reaches a roiling boil! Nearly filled, the furnace erupts like a volcano!
 
 Barely contained by its scaffolding support, the blast furnace quakes,
 and the pit mine heaves with it! Liquid iron explodes out of the bottom
 of the furnace as its joints rattle apart! ... Is the world ending?

When killed, that mob yields about 1000 xp solo and drops the Radiant Soul of a Fire Giant, a level 1000 item which may be given to White Raven Alighting Unseen for the Corona of Fire insignia (-8% death xp reduction, a.k.a. a death xp loss increase; +1 dr; insignificantly increases resistance to fire).
