Negative Damage Reduction increases the amount of damage taken per hit or spell.

It can be applied from gear, insignias, or skill affect.

Damage Reduction appears to act like racial armor - or in other words, racial armor acts like damage reduction.

The number in affects is not a percentage, so maybe it's a flat rate that's modified based on individual attacks?
