Disambiguation pages are used when more than one page shares a single name.

Disambiguation pages are pages that increase the user's chances of finding what he wants. They should never be linked to directly if a link to a specific subject is intended instead.
 
 
For example, in Avatar MUD, Panacea is the name of both a potion and a spell; so, here in Avatar Wiki, three pages are used for Panacea: <font color=blue>Panacea (potion)</font> for this potion, <font color=blue>Panacea (spell)</font> for this spell, and <font color=blue>Panacea</font> to help Wiki visitors to find whichever of these two pages they may be looking for.  This third page is called a "disambiguation" page.
 
 
 
Links to any of these disambiguation pages should (usually) be changed to point to their intended target.  While viewing these pages, one may use "what links here" in AvatarWiki's toolbox at left to help identify any categories and pages with links that may need to be altered.
