glossary:

- mir = the shapeshifting race
- savespell = saves your buffs if you are fully healed and safe
- stain = if a shapeshifter has copied somebody recently they get a stain
- hours = roughly 30 seconds, measure of spell effects duration
- shapeshift = the spell that does the shapeshift and gives you the shapeshift spell effects

background: mir can shapeshift to copy other characters, they get the equiv of that chars race and classes stats at the mir's currently level, but a lot is not documented about them (and they had a significant change some years ago so old docs are also suspect)

specifically, various factors appear to affect the quality of the copy, and the goal of this experiment was to determine which of these variables have affects

- how many hours left on shapeshift
- how much stain the target has
- whether it gets worse if you do it multiple times before returning

results (without charting the stats):

- stained affects it a ton, don't do
- single stain decays in 25 hours
- savespell seems to save the stain
- how much time left on shapeshift definitely affects it amount
- shifting as soon as it is available, 19hrs on shapeshift, gets you roughly the stats of 20hrs
- shifting with 15hrs left gets you stats of 22hrs
- shifting with 10hrs left gets you stats of 24hrs
- was unable to test a proper a chain multiple times, but:
 - shifting at 19hrs twice in a row to two clean targets netted equiv 20hrs on first target, and equiv 18hrs on second target
 - more research needed
